New Orleans

easter in new orleans

Kate ParrishComment

leaving monday morning was the best decision we made for this trip – it made our sunday so stress free and effortless. the wait for "easter brunch" was a whopping 1.5 hours {after a 30 minute line to even put our name down!!), so picked up beignets & bloodys for the park while we waited. time flew. later we conquered the town on foot starting @ one of the craziest cemeteries i've ever seen. afterwards we made stops at spitfire espresso, pat obriens to *split* a hurricane, the country club, and lastly bacchanal where we sat for hours sipping multiple bottles of wine, slowly ordering the entire menu, and listening to some live country tunes.

we saw what felt like the entire city on saturday {and reflecting back i'm realizing we ate most of the city this day as well}. after a local breakfast by our apartment at maurepas, we were off to city park for beers under some of the most massive trees i've seen. we later popped around town on bikes exploring the different neighborhoods and snagging po boys, the most epic cheese plate, a drink on the patio at columns hotel (this was straight out of the 1800's and amazing), dinner at coquette, and some seriously fun tunes at maple leaf

many of these recs came from katethank you (!!) you rock

NOLA {friday}

for my bday we took a 'surprise' trip to new orleans – what a fun time we had exploring this charming city. after a quick breakfast at elizabeth st cafe and a short hour on southwest we had arrived! we spent our first day settling into our ultra-cozy airbnb and exploring our little neighborhood {the bywater}, and were immediately blown away by the food, culture, music, and perfect weather this town has to offer.

some highlights  from friday include: cochon butcher for an obvious muffaletta, napoleon house for pimms, markey's baroxalis {a local spot for dinner recommended by some cute gentlemen we met earlier in the day}, and of course a night on bourbon street with drinks @ blacksmith shop, live music, and a few other weird little stops {you can't... not}

thank you callie for the recs !!
