Life on Pine

LAS VEGAS, NeVada [DOWNTOWN] | TRAVEL GUIDE

TRAVEL TIPS

Get off the strip! We stayed downtown and it was such a fun change from the typical "Vegas".

TO SLEEP

El Cortez An iconic downtown cornerstone for over 70 years [opened in 1941!], and they've still got it. This place is by no means super fancy, but it was just what we wanted. A clean room, a fun casino, and right in the action. I'd definitely stay here again.

The Downtown Grand We didn't get a chance to check this place out, but they have a roof pool and rooms run at right around $50/night so it seems like a screamin' hot deal

The Golden Nugget Right in the heart of the "Fremont Experience" this spot is a true classic with one of the best casinos. And their pool is pretty fun, too.

TO EAT & DRINK

Park on Fremont I loved the look of this spot [pictured to the left]. We only came here for drinks, but i'll definitely be trying their food next time.

Carsons Kitchen Famous for their burgers, flatbreads and small plates – this spot has a fun rooftop patio, craft cocktails and often live music.

Le Thai Fun patio, great food [noodles and curries], lively music [and sometimes a DJ] with a full bar.

La Comida Tasty mexican with a ton of margarita options on the menu.

Eat Comfort breakfast & lunch food [with long lines].

MTO Casual vibes, delicious pancakes and scrambles and a bit out of the action which brings down your crowded lines and wait times.

TO RECOVER

HIKING

Valley of Fire A great escape from the typical Vegas hustle. Less than an hour (~45 mins) outside the city are some really cool hikes and the scenery rivals that of the more famous Antelope Canyon.

Red Rock Canyon  Less than 30 minutes from downtown, are awesome short & long hikes or just do the scenic driving loop and get enjoy the fresh outdoor air.

FOOD

Vegenation "Eat here and feel really good", they say. A fully plant based menu that looks pretty dang tasty.

GrassRoots For smoothies and green things to put in your body after a long night of gambling.

Sunrise Coffee Organic coffee and tons of vegetarian + vegan snacks.

Mothership Coffee Locally owned with a farm-to-table bakery.

Donut Bar Because donuts are important.
