surprise!

Kate ParrishComment

my friends and family are the literally the best coolest ever – thursday night kp took me to dinner at le noir under the impression it would be the two of us and my sis to celebrate my birth. when we arrived i was surprised by some of my bestest besties circled around the cutest little birthday table and could not have been more excited to spend the evening with them. we cozied up under the tent away from the rain and i wish i could play that night on repeat ...

^^ afterwards we went to garage for champagne and continued festivities ... a massive thank you to my amazing sis {i heart you! } for planning this shindig, and to all of you who made the time to come celebrate with me – i will remember it forever

birthday, christmas & elk

saturday included so many things that i love. it started with breakfast at fraiche before heading north to tomales bay and the tule elk reserve. the weather was literally perfect for a hike-- crystal clear and chilly.

next we had lunch and celebratory drinks at marin sun farms. we also ate what may have been the best lamb burger i've ever had. our next stop was little hills to cut down our very own christmas tree! this was definitely the start of an anual tradition -- there was cider, and doggies, and so many trees. it felt like we were in whoville.

the night ended at home cooking sweet potato sausage soup and relaxing after a long day in the sun. such a perfect wintery day.

lolinda

there was a weekend full of food and rain a few weeks back. kinda starting to become a tradition? we had a sister in town and a birthday boy, so we were able to justify two nights at snazzy little spots. friday we went to lolinda -- a new argentinian restaurant in the mission. it really reminded us of something that would be in new york because of its huge, yet intimate feel. we had a great time trying many dishes, cocktails, and of course ending with three desserts. bon appetit!

{early} BIRTHDAY celebration

Kate ParrishComment

saturday felt like a dream at moments. it was so peaceful and pleasant and cozy. the day started with a run on the water followed by lunch at joes in mill valley. such an authentic and fun little taco joint. next we made our way north to scribe for  the harvest pick up party. the folks from namu gaji provided unbelievable little bites to create a magical day of wine, food, doggies, and chilly weather on the vineyard. t'was the land of hipsters, though -- we tried to fit in the best we could.

next came the early birthday celebration for kp (yes, there are a boat load of birthdays happening around here)-- guernville for the night. we've been wanting to stay at the boon hotel for a while now, so what better excuse? we enjoyed our amazing room and spent our night in the town at whitetail and the boon eat+drink. the food was amazing, however we were quite exhausted at this point. by the end of dinner we were more than ready for bed. i highly recommend this little spot!

obviously my favorite day of the year. {well, at least top 10}. on saturday morning we packed the car and headed to half moon bay for pumpkins. first, we stopped for coffee at hookers and enjoyed a cute little breakfast at blue sky farms. this place is part nursery, part landscape design, and part cafe. and they do it all to perfection.

post pumpkins we went further south to pescadero. our time here was spent wandering the town and stocking up on fresh berries, local honey, and the-best-bread-known-to-man. not kidding. and we obviously couldn't leave without a trip to pie ranch. after our mid day piece a pie, we explored the ranch -- and may even be back one day to volunteer and attend the barn dance? who knows.

happy birthday! later that night we went to magnolia in the haight to celebrate jake's birthday. this place has such a fun atmosphere, great beer, amazing food, and just all around my kinda vibes. we'll definitely be back. what a day.
