Clarksville

clark & josephine

living in clarksville has been so perfect for the last 7 months (can't believe we've lived here that long already) it reminds me so much of san francisco. the little back streets, the cozy local spots to grab drinks / brunch / dinner / fancy cheese plates, the huge green trees – it's everything i want in a neighborhood, and i truly didn't know austin had this.

last weekend we enjoyed two of my favorites that are joyfully walking distance from home – josephine house and clarks.  the more i have days like these, the more austin starts to feel like home again.

^^ afterwards, we took a short walk up sixth street to one of my favorite places to grab a fancy cocktail and listen to good music –

clark's is really just the best. i love it so dang much.

it's very rare that when walking home from work {on a nice day} those two little blue seats you see below aren't filled with people laughing and drinking wine and eating oysters. i want to be those people!! so i took it as a sign, snagged the seats, and texted my friend hb. luckily she wanted to hang out. we had a lovely time enjoying the warm spring weather, which made me realize i need to do happy hour more often. and also try to get there before actual happy hour is over, because half off wine would be cool.

welcome to clarksville

i've started to realize that the best way to learn your way around a city is by either walking or biking – i've never been good with directional instincts. even though i grew up here in austin, i'm still learning the ins and outs of this new neighborhood we're calling home. saturday was spent exploring the hood on our bikes, and later cruising streets with crazy amazing houses.

that night we had something to celebrate – my sis is our new neighbor! and while i accidentally forgot my camera to her party {i was distracted by snapping pics of our little pre cocktail party}, we had a great time celebrating her move with old and new friends, and closing out the night with a drink down the street at jeffery'sone of our new favorite neighborhood bars.

^^ this house was... nuts.

^^the palomaesque– i haven't always been a mezcal lady, but this changed everything. happy monday !

this weekend we had dear friends from sf visiting {the MGs!} ... who also had two friends joining them ... which made for a fun little group of awesome weirdos. we tried two new spots with them –  arro for dinner and josephine house for brunch, and were really {really} happy with both.

^^ this spot is only a hop skip and jump from our apartment – the menu is festive and they have plenty of drink options to suit your fancy.

^^ josephine house has been on our list for a while now – the menu is very different and fun, and the quality of food is absolutely worth a try. this place will be so fun once it's warm enough to sit outside!

^^ we ended our morning by lounging in the front yard before sending the crew off to explore austin on their own! so great to see you, MGs.
