summer swimming at blue hole and jacob's well

^^ no mini road trip is complete without donuts

we've happily had an extremely mild summer here in austin – but it's finally getting hot. real hot. like – it's not that fun to be outside hot. this has inspired us to seek out pools and swimming holes any chance we get. last weekend we finally explored jacob's well and blue hole in wimberly and can't wait to get back! while both spots were obviously crowded, we loved jumping and rope swinging over and over into the cool blue water.

afterwards we had lunch at the leaning pear {it was amazing and i'll definitely go back} and drinks at driftwood winery before heading back to austin. it was such a fun little day in wimberly – it's hard to believe i grew up in austin and never explored these spots!

exploring north loop

growing up in austin i was kind of trapped in a westlake bubble, and i'll happily admit that. there were occasional trips downtown, yes – however never as a "real" adult. whatever that means. it has been fun to be back in my home town for longer than a random holiday visit here and there, exploring areas that i never even new existed. like north loop. last weekend we had lunch at a perfect little spot called drink well. we sat at the bar, enjoyed some local austin beers paired with a tasty burger, and planned out other areas we need to explore. afterwards we walked the street full of quirky vintage shops and bars and other weird little things. can't wait to get back over here for dinner to try a few others spots we've heard about. have a great weekend !
