Family
a weekend in the hillcountry: boerne, tx
Commentafter our little SA getaway we headed 30 miles west to visit the butts / cox families in boerne {bur-nee}... our last trip here was for thanksgiving. it is so beautiful and green and secluded out there and we had so much fun playing corn hole, catching sun in the perfect little pool, and sharing a few very delicious home-cooked meals with great people. and next time we see them, a little baby boy will be part of the party. can't. wait.
^^ max has turned me into a cat person.
he is the snuggliest cutest funnest little kitty in the whole world

Commentlive music overload
Commentlast week we saw a crap ton of live music and it was glorious. we started with lord huron on tuesday night with my sis @ emos– the band is one of my favs, however that venue is kinda massive for my liking. later that week we teamed up with martha + jc for dinner at bufalina {the rave reviews were right, this place rocks}, followed by dr. dog at stubbs outdoor venue – one of the best spots for live tunes in my opinion. afterwards we crossed the street and braved the long lines for even more music at cheer up charlies. once the crowds die down this bar might become one of my favorites.
^^ those chunks of parmesan!
^^ cheer up used to be on the east side, however they've recently moved to red river. the new location is pretty rad with the rocks and the lights and... well, yeah. go check it out.
texas christmas
Commentthis year we celebrated christmas with a lot of people – it was loving and exhausting all at once {no offense, fam}. things started in texas with a dirty santa party in houston at my aunt's. we came home the proud owners of a cactus and a tequila bottle. hello !
the day following we had a pretend christmas in austin that consisted of fondue, wine, doggies, naps, baking, wine, more fondue, and a gift exchange. we were so full and happy ours heads almost exploded. so thankful to have so many loved ones around this time of year !
^^ cheese fondue, i've missed you! it has been ages. this stuff is like heaven in a bowl – and being that jc is swiss, we had some super authentic stuff going on. the cheese was flown into central market that week from his home town in switzerland. ** note, you might want to just mentally prepare that you will feel like you've eaten a bowling ball for lunch.
^^ this thing is the perfect combo of pecan and pumpkin pie. people will like you more if you make it for them.
