oren’s first flight!

jackson is a trip i had on the calendar before oren was born, and to be honest it was hard to imagine what it would be like with this tiny little baby i hadn’t even met yet. i cannot believe it has now come and gone! we had such a special time taking oren to one of our favorite places with some of our favorite people. we took many long walks, ate a lot of delicious food, spent mornings cozied up by the fire and afternoons in the hot tub… and lots of play time for the kiddos. it will be so fun to watch them grow up together <3 thank you so much to the louis crew for always being the most loving hosts. we are so grateful!

^^ these two tubbing together! i can’t handle it.

later in the week our little family moved into town to spend a few nights at the anvil hotel. we went to the rodeo, wandered the farmer’s market, popped into stores, enjoyed long patio hangs and stroller walks. and on our 2nd to last night A + S took us on the coolest adventure in teton national park. we were lucky enough to spot some wolves and elk and loooads of bison. i hope those memories will stick deep in oren’s brain forever.

the reinhardts

they're married! after an extremely fun year celebrating the engagement of these two – finally they are officially the reinhardts. and they couldn't look happier. the wedding took place @ snake river ranch and was magical. everything about the evening – the gorgeous yet cozy decor, the mountain backdrop, the charming little details, the music, the food, the drinks. everyone was so relaxed and cheerful, and i really didn't want the night to end. stay tuned for a video that captures so much more of the wedding than photos will ever do ...

^^ i mean...

^^fried chicken biscuit in-hand!

the evening ended with treats from genevieve and persephone before we made way to the mangy moose for a few final drinks with the bride and groom. i'd really like to just re-live it all again.

we made it!

after driving through teton national park we were warmly greeted at our dear friend's home, bear camp. a special place we created countless memories at during college, it was so wonderful to be back. the intimate evening was perfect; delicious food {a food truck all to ourselves!}, festive drinks, s'mores, horseshoes, and most importantly – the best company. thank you so much to a + s for hosting us.

^^ that evening we took a ride around the neighborhood and came across what seemed like 60+ elk – it was like nothing i'd ever seen before.

the following day was spent enjoying jackson – a cozy breakfast with everyone @ persephone; a difficult, but rewarding hike; happy hour at the top of the mountain ; an amazing {and hilarious} dinner @ snake river grill; and a night filled with drinks, dancing & pool @ the million dollar cowboy bar

I WANT TO RELIVE THIS PEACEFUL MOMENT OVER AND OVER AGAIN

our final stop before jackson hole was yellowstone, where we "glamped" at yellowstone under canvasa place we'd had on our radar for over a year. it was even more magical than i imagined. so simple and perfect, with everything you would need and more {including a cozy restaurant on site full of taxidermy, good food, and festive drinks like huckleberry mules}. the camp is cozy enough to hang at all day long, or there are plenty of nearby adventures if you would prefer to explore the park. even more special, our dear friends [ the bride-and-groom-to-be] joined us which made for such a memorable few days full of adventures. for more on our trip to yellowstone, see this blog post

DETAILS:

where: west yellowstone, MT
time of year: september
how to get there: we had a rental car, which i would highly recommend [the park is huge!]
price per night: depends on your tent size/package [roughly $200/night]
activities available: kayaking, fly fishing, horseback riding and more
things to know:  no food allowed in or around your tent [bears], however breakfast and dinner are served at the restaurant on the property. there are also many restaurants in west yellowestone, a short drive away. someone is always sitting in the "front desk" tent to help you, which also made me feel very comfortable. there is also always coffee and hot chocolate at your disposal!
