Life on Pine

martha & jc in the bay area

what a joy it is to have parents in town. this past weekend martha and jc were here and we decided to take them out of the city for a change. we started with one of my favs -- brunch at jane. this little spot on fillmore never fails.  after, we headed north to point reyes for an afternoon by the water at hog island. we had an epic cheese plate thanks to fatted calf, and countless orders of regular and bbq'd oysters. so good that even martha liked them!

next we headed back south to our home for the night in bolinas. just in time for sunset! this place had insane views, as you can see. kp and i cooked a delicious (if i do say so myself) dinner, and we spent the rest of the evening teaching the parents how to play jenga. perfect little fall dinner: sweet potato chipotle soup (i recommend cutting the recipe in half) pine nut crusted halibut

the next morning we had an excellent breakfast on the patio (and had an extra hour thanks to fall-back) -- and enjoyed left over bread from our tartine bakery night. before we left we headed to bolinas beach for surfing, paddles and sun. the weather was weirdly amazing (sunny, but not too hot). on the way home we stopped for lunch {yes, more food!} at cavallo point. this spot really has amazing views, and excellent food. here we had our must have been... 9th bottle of wine for the weekend? holy.

our day ended with naps, and a long walk to dinner at delarosa. we had so much fun with you two and can't wait to see you again soon! bisous!
